Looking After Your Head

Good onya

Getting your head right is just as important as prepping your house. When a cyclone's bearing down, stress goes through the roof and can stop you thinking straight when you need to most.

Looking After Your Mates

Too easy

The Aussie spirit of lending a hand is our greatest strength in tough times. Communities that stick together recover faster from cyclones—that's not just talk, it's backed by research.

Who Needs A Hand?

  • Elderly neighbours, especially those living solo
  • People who need power for medical gear
  • Families with bubs and young tackers
  • Anyone without wheels to evacuate

How To Help A Mate

  • Help them tie down or bring in loose items
  • Offer a lift if evacuation's needed
  • Pass on emergency info if they're offline
  • Share extra supplies if you've got them

Before the cyclone hits: Set up a street WhatsApp group, identify neighbours who might need help, and team up to prepare properties. Many hands make light work.

During the emergency: Text instead of call to save battery and reduce network load. Only check on neighbours when authorities say it's safe to venture out.
